The handpan combines percussion and melody. That is also what makes them so particularly interesting. It can be played slowly and with care, but also quickly, similar to a drum kit. The instruments are tuned with a hammer, this process is very complex, but you can not tune the instrument yourself. At the top center is the root note, the thing that usually forms the starting note (bass note) of the scale.
Structure of the handpan
The sound is activated by whip-like striking with the fingers. The sound is not intrusive, rather soft and gentle. The stainless steel material makes it easy to play the notes even for beginners and vibrates very easily. On the bottom side there is the so-called Gu-hole, this serves the resonance of the instrument. For extended instruments (handpans with multiple notes), there are additional notes on the bottom depending on the version.

Create your own style
In addition to the standard coloring, many colors and scales are available for special orders. So every customer can create his own style.
The production of special requests takes time, however, and a waiting period of approx. 3 months must be allowed for such an order.
